Pear Salad with Blue Cheese and Walnuts
The salad is nature’s perfect recipe for a side, entrée, or healthy mid-day snack. It probably is the one dish that can be enjoyed any time of day and depending on the ingredients can even cross all three meals without question.
The base is any type of leafy green, but here we are going with a bed of baby lettuces and greens. Tender, light, colorful, fragrant, and textural create visual interest and flavor profile. Ready to be layered with ripe fall bosc pears, tangy blue cheese crumbles, and crunchy walnuts.
Finished off with a good drizzle of olive oil mayonnaise and toasted rice wine vinaigrette. The dressing brings all the flavors together in a mild, yet delicious combination. The crunch, sweetness, and tangy undertones are all supported by the greens and herbs.

Whatcha Need
Dressing:
¼ cup rice wine vinegar, balsamsic vinegar alternative
3 garlic cloves, minced
1 teaspoon dijon mustard
½ teaspoon kosher salt
⅛ teaspoon ground black pepper
½ cup olive oil
Salad:
1 package baby lettuce, greens, and herbs, torn into pieces
2 pears, cut into slices
½ cup blue cheese, crumbled
1 cup walnut halves
How It’s Made
In a lidded jar add vinegar, garlic, mustard, salt, pepper and olive oil. Seal and shake well.
In a medium-large serving bowl, layer the lettuce, pear slices, and sprinkle walnuts over.
Reshake the dressing once again and drizzle some over the top.
Toss salad and serve.
